At Age 61, I Learned To Surf, Snorkle and Rekindled My Marriage...
"From Plus To Petite After 61"
A few years ago I would have never been on the beach in a small swim suit...let alone surfing and snorkeling.
I am a mom of 3 and with each pregnancy, I kept gaining, more and more...eating more and more too.
I remember back in my 20s and early 30s I could:
- Eat what I wanted...WHEN I wanted and not gain a single ounce;
- Maintain a slim figure even while living on pizzas and pasta and burgers;
- Stay in great shape without ever going to the gym;
- Feel confident and comfortable wearing sexy form-fitting tops, tight jeans and shorts;
- Have plenty of energy from sun up to sun down; and
- Never get sick or feel run down.
After 40, EVERYTHING Went Downhill and FAST...
All of a sudden, my once slim and petite figure became a magnet for pounds and bulge in all the wrong places.
It seemed my metabolism had SLOWED to a crawl.
Even my health was deteriorating, and I had very little energy throughout the day.
So, I would go to bed earlier at night, hoping that would help me make it through the next day.
Some nights I’d even sleep 11 + Hours, and still be dragging the next day!
I didn’t realize at the time how BAD it had gotten.
That is, until my husband decided to book us a little getaway. He had booked a condo on AirBnB for us to stay in.
I thought this was going to be a good time for just the two of us, but...
When I walked in the bathroom I noticed there was a fancy digital scale near the towel rack. We hadn’t had a scale at our house in years.
I decided to step on... just to see what it read.
238... What? Surely, it was off.
I looked up in the bathroom mirror, and was so ashamed of what I saw.
Wow, 238? Really??
How did it get this bad? How did I let myself go so far?
I thought about the “scale experience” the rest of the day. And that evening as I was getting ready for bed, I made a decision.
I Was Determined To Get The "Youthful Me" Back!
The first thing I did when I got back home was start walking and using the light weights I had.
But, I found out pretty quick that my joints were not going to hold up with working out with even the lightest weights and walking was near impossible.
Then, I started an intermittent fasting program.
But found out it left me too hungry, so I ended up snacking and ruining the whole thing.
Next, I did Keto. There were some excellent meals to be had with that plan, but they were so small that I was still hungry after every meal so again, I snacked.
I even tried some weird home remedies that I found online.
While I was on the "natural home remedy" kick, I even tried putting a peeled onion in my sock.
(and I'm a little embarrassed to confess I slept with an onion in my sock)
Then I counted calories, tried Paleo, I even went Vegan for a whole month.
BUT, my scale numbers weren’t budging!
I thought... hmmm
“Could something be wrong with me internally?”
So, I made an appointment with my doctor to get checked out.
What My Doctor Revealed Totally Shocked Me!
Hindsight is always 20/20…
Even so, I never would’ve thought that slimming down would turn out to be this easy.
Now, stay with me while I explain - it’ll only take a couple of minutes.
Like others, I have tried so many different things in my life, but never managed to truly find a way to keep my stubborn weight off.
We all know the weight loss “solutions”:
😒 Paleo, Keto, Atkins, Vegan;
😒 Intermittent Fasting;
😒 Low-Carb;
😒 WW, Jenny Craig, and so on…
If you can name it, I’ve tried it…
And the results were always the same…
I’d lose a little… then gain it all back… plus more!
And then there were the intense workouts I tried...
Sure, I always felt great when I was done, but at the end of the day the numbers on my scale only climbed higher.
I’ve always suspected there was something inside me working against my body…
Making me unable to lose any weight…
My suspicion was finally confirmed when I stumbled upon this short video that proved that shedding weight has nothing to do with:
😤 How much food we cut out; or
😤 How much time we spent working out.
Nor did it matter our age or genetic makeup.
Instead, I discovered that it was “Mid-Life Metabolic Stress” that was preventing our bodies from losing a single ounce of fat.
Thankfully, this video also showed a "30-Second Bedtime Routine" that any of us can easily do to eliminate mid-life metabolic stress.
Soon after I started the simple bedtime routine:
👍 I have loads of energy all throughout the day;
👍 I stopped going to all of my insane workout sessions;
👍 I eat all of my favorite foods, whenever I want, however much I want;
👍 I stopped stressing about gaining weight;
👍 I LOVE how I look in the mirror; and
👍 I just love how clothes fit on me ❤️
These days, I am no longer fooled by the fitness industry that keeps feeding everyone with lies, just to make sure they keep us in a never-ending weight loss/ weight gain cycle.
And all I do is to just follow the simple night time routine.
